The donation is made in the name of Guangdong Guoqiang Public Welfare Foundation (hereinafter referred to as "Guoqiang Foundation"). Guoqiang Fund was registered in October 2013. The founder was Yang Guoqiang and his second daughter Yang Huiyan. The original fund of the Foundation was 10 million yuan, and the donor was Qingyuan Holiday Peninsula Country Garden Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. indirectly controlled by Yang Huiyan.

Chen Tai is not only Yang Guoqiang’s son-in-law and Yang Huiyan’s husband, but also graduated from Tsinghua University and participated in many donations to Tsinghua University.

Chen Tai, 40, is the first Tsinghua student in Country Garden. In April, 2016, at the Friends’ Forum of the 90th Anniversary of the Department of Chemistry in Tsinghua University, Chen Nai talked about his experiences in Tsinghua University and Country Garden.

In high school, Chen Tai won the first prize for participating in a chemistry competition. In 1997, he was admitted to the Chemistry Department of Tsinghua University, and in 2001, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry.

After graduation, Chen Nai participated in the first undergraduate chemistry experiment competition and won the first prize, so he was sent to graduate school. However, after two and a half years of graduate study, he dropped out of school and went to Britain to study biochemistry.

After graduation, Chen Tai did not engage in chemistry, but went to work in Country Garden and became a real estate salesman. Because he was the first Tsinghua student in Country Garden, he had a big competitive advantage.

Yang Huiyan, Chen Tai’s wife, also attended the financial EMBA autumn class of Wudaokou Finance College in Tsinghua University in 2014. During her school days, she participated in many activities to promote Country Garden’s donation to Tsinghua University.

This origin continues to professional managers. In recent years, Country Garden, which has widely recruited doctors, has many doctors from Tsinghua University. Not only that, the first doctor from Country Garden also came from Tsinghua University, and now he is the executive vice president of Country Garden.

The donation of Country Garden and Tsinghua University can be traced back to 2007. In October of that year, Yang Guoqiang went north to Tsinghua University to donate 30 million yuan to set up the "Guohua Outstanding Scholar Award Fund", and the fund gave out 3 million yuan of operating income every year to reward Tsinghua University scientists whose scientific and technological research achievements made outstanding contributions to the country, society and people’s lives.

Since then, Country Garden has also extended the "Guohua Outstanding Scholar Award Fund" to universities such as Peking University, Lanzhou University and Sun Yat-sen University.
