　　CCTV News:Today (30th), the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway, the Zhanghu high-speed railway from Zhangjiakou to Hohhot and the Zhangda high-speed railway from Zhangjiakou to Datong were opened for operation. A hundred years ago, in order to overcome the problem of insufficient power for vehicles to climb the mountain, Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway built a herringbone line. Nowadays, the newly-built Beijing-Zhangjia high-speed railway has also built a herringbone line, which runs through Zhangjiakou and Chongli, the venue of the 2022 Winter Olympics.

　　In 1909, the first railway designed entirely by Chinese and built with its own investment — — The Beijing-Zhangjia Railway was completed and put into operation under the auspices of Mr. Zhan Tianyou. It connects Fengtai District of Beijing, passes Badaling, Juyongguan, Shacheng, Xuanhua and other places to Zhangjiakou, Hebei, with a total length of 201.2 kilometers. In the construction process, in order to overcome the difficulty of the train going up the mountain, the herringbone line was creatively used.

　　Today, the Beijing-Zhangjia high-speed railway was officially opened, and the intelligent Fuxing EMU with a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour was put into use first, and the Beidou satellite navigation system independently developed by China was adopted for the first time. In Xiahuayuan, Zhangjiakou, the Beijing-Zhangjia high-speed railway divides into two parts in the shape of a "human", all the way to Zhangjiakou and all the way to Chongli, the venue of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Its opening will greatly promote the development of local tourism and ice and snow industry.
