On July 18th this year, Ursula von der Leyen was re-elected as President of the European Commission by the European Parliament. After that, she set out to form a new European Commission. According to the relevant regulations of the European Union, each member state should nominate a candidate for the European Commission. Except Ursula von der Leyen himself, all nominees must be approved by the European Parliament, questioned by the European Parliament hearing and confirmed by voting before taking office.

According to EU diplomats, at present, it is expected that the establishment of the next European Commission leadership team may be postponed until after the original early November.

In order to ensure the gender balance of the team, the list was once postponed. On September 16th, local time, Thierry Bredon, a Frenchman who is in charge of the internal market of the European Commission, announced his resignation and accused Ursula von der Leyen of "improper governance", which also made European public opinion suspect that the release of this list might be postponed again.
